No blisters this time: why not?

This is my fifth camino. On the previous ones, between day 4 and 7 I have acquired a few blisters which have taken a few uncomfortable to painful days to walk through. I'm now on day 26 and haven't got any blisters at all and assume that I am past the danger point.

Not complaining at all, but can't work out why. Nothing much is different: if anything the distances are a bit longer than usual (2 of my 3 longest ever days), I brought some raw wool (kindly provided by one of my sheep back home) but have generally forgotten to rub my feet with it, am wearing bamboo "base" socks (as last time), mildly wetter than usual but nothing exceptional.

Hope it keeps up for future caminos.

My answer was in the footwear.
Walking boots and socks - terrible blisters
Sandals and bare feet - no blisters at all.

It's weird, isn't it?
Last time I walked, which was about my 7th Camino, out of the blue, I got a blister in the very FLAT stretch going into Villafranca del Bierzo.
Never happened before - nothing about my footwear had changed.

Experienced pilgrims I think learn intuitively when to push it and when to stop and "adjust." Looking back on my first and only Camino I would do things much differently. Alansykes you may just be getting good at this!
