Time of past OR future Camino
planning my first
Hello my friends,

After experiencing heavy traffic on past caminos during the summer months Aug/Sep and May/Jun my wife and 10 year old son have decided to go for a Oct/Nov camino. We would greatly appreciate any input from those who have gone before us during this time. Info on weather, alburgue availability and so forth. We are starting this camino on the 17th of Oct and plan to be on the trail for the month of Nov. Maybe we will see you there.
Thanks,
Shawn

Most of the albergues in smaller towns/villages will close at the end of October. However, where there is more than one albergue, usually one will be open. The municipals will be open. If it is cold in November, be prepared for very little heat! Buen camino.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Will there be accommodation on Camino Madrid in early October?

Hi,

Maybe see you as we should be starting 21st or 22nd Sept depending on how long we spend travelling ....

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
At least on the CF albergues will be open until, at least end of November. But, considering that you are walking with a child - the weather can turn really nasty (cold, rain, strong winds) so please come prepared and have Plan B,C and D in place. Buen Camino, SY

Thanks for the input, we always make it a point to have a backup plan. We walked the way with him in 2015 when he was 8 and he did well, now at 10 he should have no troubles, I will just try to keep up.

I have the same questions for the Portuguese; will be starting about Oct 15. Weather? Albergues? Many thanks y ultreia!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
