Opening of the Refuge de Bayonne

The refuge Saint Jacques 7 rue Gosse in Bayonne will open its doors to pilgrims for the new season from March 25 to April 1, 2024. Will close from April 1 to 8 due to the ham fair. Reopening April 8, 2024 until October 31.

For those who may be considering staying at the Refuge - it’s relatively new with modern facilities and about 14 beds from memory in a great location just near the cathedral. We stayed there in May 2023 before beginning the Camino Baztan. We were able to reserve ahead via email. Warm welcome from wonderful volunteers. And you can get a credencial and a shell there as well as information on the various routes from Bayonne. Most others were walking the Norte.

Based on our experience - highly recommended.
