Airline tickets are in hand, hostal for first night in Madrid confirmed, passport, and pet passport ready! Leaving for this adventure on Sept 5th from Seattle, WA. My hesitation...bringing the tent.

I have an ultralight tent for myself and service dog. Yes, he is an offical service dog. He has his papers, and on his travel pack it says, Perro de Servicico. So I know he is allowed in locations that other animals are not.

With the busyness of the camino do those of you camino savy and wise folks think a tent is in order for the trip? I'm going to be starting in Madrid, then going to Sahagun.

The biggest thing I do not wish to do is to rush. I don't want to feel like I'm running from one village to the other just to find a bed.

blessings to you all.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

My husband and I walked the CF in Mar/Apr of this year. We carried a light, two-person tent. We always found a place to stay along The Way so we didn't need to use it.

Buen Camino to you and your pooch!

Hola

At the beginning of September I suspect that the nearer you get to Santiago there will still be a rush for beds especially at weekends. Given that you don't want to rush ahead on balance I'd take the tent and happily post it ahead if i found that the camino was quieter than anticipated.

Buen camino

Did you meet Bjørn Krohn? Died aged 48 in an albergue, I don't know where, tuesday 21th. I didn't know this until now.
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
