Today is my last day of work. Please, Private Message comments only!

Perhaps I will use my time to write a book about the Camino, or even begin posting here on a few topics...

It feels as liberating as slipping on my Crocs after a hot day of walking the Camino. I recommend the feeling to everyone.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Despite your private comments only request, I pass on best wishes; and would note that I retired on Sept 3, was in an aeroplane to Paris-CdG on Sept 4, and walking out of Mont Saint Michel on Sept 6. If you can manage it, I recommend this as a post-retirement transition exercise.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Likewise, best wishes. I can heartily recommend retirement, the best thing that ever happened to me, hope yours is the same.

Wishing you decades of discovery, adventure, a little decadence, and ultimately - peace.

I retired two years ago and am still grinning - picture of me :D

Oh the joy of going away for as long as you like without having to ask permission of your employer. Bliss!

Congratulations.

Retirement is a wonderful life-style, but does not pay as well as employment. I am able to mix the two, by working a part-time job in our Summer [when I would not be walking in Spain] and putting money aside for more trips to the camino without having to touch our retirement savings.

Alan

Be brave. Life is joyous.

Welcome to the great world of the retired. Enjoy it :)

Congratulations!! You survived!! Now go outside and PLAY!!

Congratulations.

I have been retired now for 11 years and I can truly say I have never been happier. Not working has allowed me to be a better husband, father and much more. It has also allowed me to do many things I never thought I would have the time to do.

I wish you all the best and many years of enjoyment ticking off items on that bucket list.

Best regards,
Joe Flavin

A very happy retirement Falcon! I am retired eighteen months and am extremely happy. Someone recently said to me " retirement is like childhood, you now have time to do the things you really love doing." Enjoy, you deserve it !
Una :D

Happy Retirement Falcon!! Now it's time to kick up the walking boots!

The best retirement is a change in activity! Enjoy the new circumstance, but please keep on posting here

I retired June 1 after thirty two years of Teaching in a large public high school. I do understand the sense of liberation, I promise. The Camino, which I will do in early Oct., is my gift to myself and my way of making the transition into my second life. I wish you many adventures in yours.

Gosh you have retired from everything I see from your Avatar, I'm guessing this is your latest grandchild, Bravo & well done Granddad :) :) (&Grandma too)

Move slowly and make reasoned decisions in the next few weeks. It´s easy to "retire" into a life that is more busy than it´s ever been... I speak from experience!

Reb.
"retired" at age 46, and never worked harder

As everyone knows, Matron never could follow instructions. Happy retirement, Falcon, and come see Foxy and me soon...! :D

Hi all, I’m starting my Camino Frances on May 12. I’ve booked my first night in SJPDP, but I’m starting to worry I need to book more. My plan was to take it day by day and just turn up, but lots...
Hello all. Here to give a brief account of my (and many others) first day on the Camino on May 1. The trip to Roncesvalles was tough. I went Valcarlos route because napoleon was very ill advised...
Seems to be a lot of people posting about stuff they lost on the Camino recently. I managed to leave a nice new-ish polo shirt somewhere drying and didn't notice for over a week. I hope someone...
Did you meet Bjørn Krohn? Died aged 48 in an albergue, I don't know where, tuesday 21th. I didn't know this until now.
I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
Can anyone tell me if food is available there… anyone stayed recently? Cheers
