I went in September 2004 from Triacastela to Santiago. It took me 11days, 73 years old and no rush. I want to do it again in June but starting point Roncesvalles. I am not sure how to get there from Barajas airport, Madrid, to Roncesvalles and how long it will take me to Santiago.

So you are now 83? You have my utmost respect! Madrid to Roncesvalles: Bus from Madrid to Pamplona and another bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles. If you give us your exact travel day one of us here can help you even further. As for how long it tales? Depends entirely on how many kilometres per day you can walk and how many rest days you need. If you needed 11 days for the ~140km from Triacastela to Santiago it will take you 2 to 3 months from Roncesvalles to Santiago. Buen Camino! SY

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Thanks for your reply and SORRY, went 2014 (last year) and will be 73. Will be able to do 22 km a day. I will need to calculate distance from were I might stay. Don't know exact date yet as I started my plans this week.
