I just spoke to my wife who just arrived late into Saint Jean Pied de Port this evening. The train service from Bayonne to Saint Jean Pied de Port was shut down due to wild cat rotating strikes. Same goes for the TVG train from Paris to Bayonne. The TVG train actually went to Bayonne but left late and went no further (for those people trying to get to Spain and beyond)

Luckily there was a "pilgrim style" bus running from Bayonne to Saint Jean that was running late itself which she was able to catch (the bus was nearly full of stranded pilgrims)

The story she heard from others, is that the rail strikes are continuing, affecting different regional lines on different days, so be prepared to delays or cancellations.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Happened the same to me in May 2011. And later I've heard of a few more strikes but always there were buses instead of TER to SJPdP. I don't know for other routes though.

How long do these "wild cat rolling strikes" usually last? ~ ~ 24 hours? a few days? Thanks!

From what I read since posting this entry, is the wild cat rotating strike has ended for now ... until they decide to go out again...
