I stayed in the la Fourdonne gite in Saint-Cirq on June 1. Nice place which you must reserve in advance.
I had a room with a single bed and a bunk bed. A French hiker shared my room. In the morning I started folding my blanket when I spotted an insect on the sheet. I asked the French hiker if he thought it was <<une punaise de lit>>? He replied that he didn't know. I observed further and then crushed the bug. Blood, not a lot, just a little, splattered. My blood, of course. So there you have it, my first bedbug kill.
Of course I left a note in the guest book telling the administrator, Sylvie, about this experience.
I supply this anecdote only to be humorous. On a more serious note, I would suggest avoiding Saint-Cirq on weekends. It is jammed with tourists along with the cars and buses that transport them there.
On the way there from Bach via Concots, I came upon a nice farmer's market in Concots. Probably Sunday only...I'm not sure. The chemin was fairly deserted. I only ran across three small groups as I headed north from Bach to Saint-Cirq. Once you get to Saint-Cirq and start hiking along the Lot to Cahors, there are many more hikers
