Sounds interesting and I may invest.(Disclaimer, I am not an employee or sponsored by the company who makes this sleep preserving product)
I am currently walking the Camino Francés, before I departed for my trip I anticipated snoring would be an issue, as obviously the way is a shared journey.. I did some research online and fatefully discovered a new product on a website called 'Kickstarter', I backed the product and they hastily shipped it to me in time as they promised. The product is called 'Isolate' by a company called Flare Audio, it is basically just a pair of ear tips that you place in your ear canal, they are padded with foam for comfort and the metal bit on the outside absords all sound (snoring, inebriated individuals making too much noise outside.. Etc..) you will hear nothing but bone structure noise inside your own body. So far I can safely say that they have been well worth the investment.. Crowd-funding campaigns have now closed but pre-orders are now being taken on IndieGogo, if you are planning a Camino or any other travel with shared sleeping quarters or just value your hearing these are a must have piece of kit.. (I don't write reviews often but when you deal with people providing quality customer service and an excellent product it is the least I can do to show my gratitude and help others)
**As I write this there is at least 3 people snoring, always makes me chuckle because I know it isn't an issue for me!**

Right now I'm using HEAROS and I squish them so tightly into my ears I need a drill to get them out.
But they DO work...
Link me?!I see similar earplugs on amazon.com for less cash.
Not sure how they work but worth looking into.
Well Ryan, when you've finished the Camino, you will maybe be able to turn your hand to a new career in marketing. In fact if you were to let Flare Audio know I'm sure they would give you an interview, after all they seem to employ an awful lot of people with your forename to extol their as yet, unproven, virtues across the kickstarter world.
Buen Camino, hombre.

for me, rocket attackNo amount of snoring ever bothered me eitherbut then, I did sleep through a hurricane...
Nonetheless, this is the second time that @Ryan Alexander has promoted this product. The first time here in response to a question about snoring where providing information about particular products seems entirely appropriate. In providing this so called testimonial, it appears to be largely a repetition of the company's own advertising blurb for the product with a little added boosting about how good an investment they might be. Really!! Paying 25 - 50 euro for a pair of earplugs certainly wouldn't appeal to me as being good value for money under any circumstances.Yes, Wayfarer, you are correct. I apologise.
Ryan I am truly sorry if you are not marketing for the company.
You are correct I have not yet done the Camino Frances.

It is, and clearly stated as such. It is interesting to see that you have a different opinion, although I don't see the relevance of your analogy to eating out. That may be your opinion.
I think the fact that I snore is either well known or relatively easily discovered from my previous posts on the subject of snorers. At least I am prepared to admit that, unlike the many pilgrims who seem to be in complete denial that they do. What about you?Maybe you are one of the offending snorers, Doug
Lolfor me, rocket attack
The amount people pay on constantly buying earplugs, they may aswell just invest a little more and be done with it..
Gently people. Please take any personal comments to PM.
Nope, just make sure it is in far enough but not so much it pushes and hurts..Ryan, these sound interesting, but what happens if you sleep on your side? Does the metal part get in the way and press into the ear?
Low frequency sounds are really difficult to block, I know. I'm about to go to bed in a room with a really noisy fridge...

The question is not about what either of us might want to do, it is about whether it is appropriate to use this forum to promote a commercial product, which is what I think you are doing here in this thread.Well Doug, I take it you've never bought a product and been extremely grateful that is was created and wanted to show appreciation by helping the creator and the people who would benefit from it..
@SYates, I had no desire to repeat the makers claims. @Ryan Alexander has provided a link to their web page. If you go there, you will find the claims made about noise absorption at the start of the thread are lifted from the maker's promotional material.@dougfitz
It would be really helpful if you could back up your claims with some sort of proof instead of just accusations. SY
If not being disturbed by snorers were the only reason for choosing to use a private room, I would suggest any well fitted ear plug will win hands down. How much more you are prepared to pay for additional noise attenuation is where the real cost-benefit analysis might be useful.I have no opinion whatsoever on earplugs and their promotion but these two comments made me wonder about a cost-benefit-analysis and what would be cheaper in the long run: a highly efficient pair of earplugs in mass dormitories or private rooms.

@SYates, I don't suggest that @Ryan Alexander is employed by the maker, merely that by repeating their promotional material, he has made himself a proxy for them. I am prepared to accept that he thinks he is providing a testimonial. My concern is that is difficult in this instance to distinguish that from the commercial advertising the maker is doing themselves.Sorry, that doesn't prove that the OP is in any way connected to the manufacturer like your posts imply. It just shows that he was a bit lazy in finding his own wording ;-) If he truly was a professional promoter/copy writer, he would have written his own promotional text.
Until proven otherwise, I always stick to "innocent until proven guilty" ... Buen Camino, SY
If you haven't gone by to see Santo Tomas de Ollas I highly recommend it...sorry to be off topic but...Well anyway I'm on Day 23 Ponferrada, nearly there now!
Thanks for the tip. Not currently on Camino, but that doesn't mean I'm not sleeping in the same room as a snorer!I've had great luck with these, for $12.95 US.
