Hello Everyone.

This will probably be my last posting on this forum from the USA. My dad and I leave Miami, FL. on the 19th and are so excited!!! I wanted to thank each of you for contributing to the wealth of information on here and an wanted to send a special thanks to those who addressed our questions and gave us us such excellent advice. I plan to do my best to follow in your footsteps by contributing further to the forum and to those pilgrims that require my assistance in the future.

The fact of the matter is that I am leaving behind a 9 year old son who is about to go into 4th grade and i know that me leaving on this camino is a little difficult for him. Naturally he wants to know where Daddy and abuelo are so in my efforts to get him camino ready I decided that it was a important to address his concerns. Because of this I purchased a Satellite tracker so that my friends and family could keep track of us.

My first contribution to the forum will be providing you with a link to our tracking page. It currently says no displayable messages, but that is only because the trip has not started On August 20 you will be able to see where we are.

In it you should see our progress and should be able to zoom in using google maps down to street level in some places.

I will be taking lots of pictures and I hope that upon my return I can post a large online album to share with the forum.

I thank you all again.

Wish us luck

I just followed a friend's trek through Michigan on his tracker. The missing feature, at least for findmespot.com, is adding a new post to a map of the old ones to show progress. Still, it let everyone know where he was and that "all is good." He will have it when we do the Primitivo in October.

Buen camino.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I decided on this one since it also gave me the option of sending customized messages on the fly.

I purchased the "tracking" plan which puts a new spot on the map automatically every 10 minutes in nearly real time and keeps all the old ones for the previous 7 days.

Only bad thing is that it eats 2- lithium AA batteries every 12 days(using for 12 hours a day) So i have the weight of the device 4.9oz plus the weight of 6 extra lithium AA. These batteries are not exactly easy to find even in the states so i figured I better carry them.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
