Hello all,

I was wondering if my suitcase will arrive in Santiago in 5 days when shipped via Correos from Madrid airport?

My wife and I are walking from Sarria to Santiago in a few days and we want to ship a suitcase to Santiago as we are continuing to travel Spain for 2 weeks.

We are only planning on walking for 5 days and want to make sure it will be there.

Also, would it be better to ship from Sarria then the Madrid airport

Thanks in advance for any help.

It usually take 3-4 business days within Spain if you send it "normal". More or less...

The post office also have 24h and 48h service, paying a tiny bit more.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I mailed my suitcase from the Correos office in Irun to Santiago on the afternoon of July 4th. I received a notification from Correos that it had been delivered the next day!

I began walking on Sep. 24 from Leon. I sent a suitcase to Santiago with Correos from the Leon Correos Office. Due to a fall and broken wrist, I arrived in Santiago on Sept 29th. My suitcase was there. If I were you, I’d send it from Sarria.

I would send it from wherever is more convenient for you. According to my notification from Correos I mailed my suitcase at 12:54 on July 4th, and it arrived less than 24 hours later at Casa Ivar in Santiago at 12:36 on July 5th! And don't forget that Correos will be closed on Sunday.

This year I posted a large package from Madrid to SdC and it came in 2 days.
Also you don't have to pay Correos nothing to get your stuff in hold if you send it as "Lista de Correos" (like Poste restante/PO Box). It will wait for you two weeks.

Yes, that works well for those walking shorter Caminos.

I forgot to mention that I paid 22.45 Euros to send my carry-on sized suitcase.

Exactly why I mentioned it. The OP wants to walk 5 days.
