Hi fellow pilgrims!

Is it realistic to reach León from SJPdP in 20 days, starting the last week of May? I'm 24 and moderately fit.
And also, how much should I budget for per day in average? I'm a light sleeper, so I'll probably need a few nights in a private room + I'd like a pilgrim's menu and a glas of wine now and then.

All the best,

Emily

Hi Emily , 20 day's will be doable and on the light sleep issue don't forget the ear plugs.

Wish you a wonderful time and a Buen Camino,Peter.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Saint Brierley (https://www.santiagodecompostela.me...t-jean-pied-de-port-to-santiago-de-compostela) behoves a 20 day journey from StJpdP. His 30km stage from Logrono to Najera might be a bit of a challenge given that it is virtually all up hill, other designated stages are surprisingly short and easy. 20 days seem pretty achievable. I did it in 18 at 62 y.o.a though I did stop at every refreshment facility I could ;)

The budget thread ( link above ) was a pretty good one.

Avoid the pilgrims' menu if you can.

My second Camino last year (April-May) was interrupted by my mother's death. After returning to Leon, jet lagged from a 5 day return trip to Australia for her funeral, I was super keen to finish and walked some ridiculously long days of over 50 km (not really recommended) but I did finish in 9 days. So 20 days looks very comfortable to this then 62 year old.
Take all the time you can to enjoy every moment along the way and stop regularly to care for your body.
Buen Camino!
