A friend who has just returned from the Camino reports that many albergues don't switch on the heating system, there might be shortage of warm blankets because peope who take care of the albergues are not there or not all the time, and bed bugs are more common now.
So- take a sleeping bag and warm sleeping clothes, bed sheet and even pillow cover.
Gloves- take water proof gloves, warm scarf .
Check for closed for winter albergues.
There were some places where she had stayed by herslef for the night in the albergues and felt unsafe because of suspicious looking owners (men unfortunately).
If you cross from SJPDPD check the weather and snow condition, take the road if you feel crossing might be dangerous.
