St Jean to Santiago Nov Dec 2008

Hi my fellow peregrinos. Thought i'd start a blog for anyone heading out to Santiago from St Jean Pied de Port in November/Dec.
I'm booked to fly to Biarritz on 31st October and it would be great to hear about anyone else's plans for their camino. Mine's drawing closer and i am having the occasional bum-twich about such a demanding journey. Very excited though, just what the soul needs.

Hope to maybe sharing a few km's or a bottle of rose with you soon!

Buen Camino!

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hi there - how exciting for you, only 14 more sleeps!
The Esprit du Chemin albergue will be closed when you get to St Jean but the pilgrim office will direct you to other accommodation.
If you are planning on walking the route Napoleon up to Orisson on your first day, it might be worth booking a bed ahead - Jean-jacques.etchandy@wanadoo.fr -

And remember, take their advice on whether or not to cross on the route Napoleon. If the weather forecast is for mist, rain, snow etc., its not worth risking your life to walk that route.
In November last year, 2496 pilgrims received the Compostela and in December only 796 so you should have lots of time for contemplation on your camino.
Buen suerte,

What's your blog address? I might be pushing back my camino, going in October or November 2009 to take advantage of the extra days' off from work due to the Thanksgiving Holidays.
