What's the best transport from Santiago Airport (arrive Airport @ 7.45am) via city (to drop off luggage) on to Sarria on Monday Sept 29 2014. Need to get to Sarria quickly to do 6 hrs walking on same day.
Anyone available to share group taxi if cost is reasonable?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Empresa Freire connects Santiago to Lugo. Most but not all buses stop enroute at the Santiago Airport. Monbus connects Lugo to Sarria. The transfer point is the Lugo bus station.

Sometimes it is more time efficient to take Empresa Freire bus from Santiago Labcolla airport to Santiago bus station (every half hour) and catch another bus to Lugo.

Monbus has buses from Santiago bus station to Monforte de Lemos and buses from Monforte de Lemos to Sarria.

Renfe provides service to Sarria on trains running between Monforte de Lemos and Betanzos-Infesta. These trains originate in Madrid, Barcelona, etc and terminate in A Coruña or Ferrol. Trains from Santiago usually require a transfer at A Coruña, Ourense, or Monforte de Lemos. If you plan to get from Santiago to Sarria ... use the bus.

Actually all Freire buses from Santiago to Lugo stop at the airport before continuing to Lugo. Same thing the other way 'round.
Monbus has regular services between Lugo and Sarria.
Check the time tables on each of above mentioned internet sites and the easiest connection times at Lugo "estacion de autobuses".

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
Check the route Santiago to Lugo and the timetable, and you' ll for sure can take the bus at the official stop at the roundabout past the carparks (north) of the terminal. ALL buses stop here ( upon request), particularly because many locals who work here use the service daily.
At the estacion de autobuses in Santiago there are the specific airport buses, as well as those which do the Lugo run. Two different matters.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Many thanks for your further response! I'll follow up & get a bus time that will suit. Great help!

Hi, I am hoping to get to Lugo bus station from Santiago bus station by EmpreseFreire (17.00) and then get a bus (Monbus) from Lugo to Sarria (18.35). My concern is the EmpreseFreire bus arrives at Lugo station at 18.35 the same time the Monbus leaves for Sarria!
Anyone any experience of this? Is there any chance the Monbus waits for the Empresefriere bus at all or it gets there slightly before 18.35, given the Lugo to Sarria route is a popular one?
Thanks a lot.

You will make the connection. The Empresse Freire will be a few minutes early, and the Monbus waits for it when it is not.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Can you tell me where the bus stop is for the Empresa Freire bus from the airport to Lugo. Is it the one just outside the airport?

Yes. There is only one bus stop, and the airport is not large. It is in front of the exit doors.
