My other and mostly better half will be walking the camino frances route this September and October.

When finished at the end of October, she wants to travel over to Switzerland to visit some family. She is a little concerned that Easy Jet which has the right to cancel flights may in fact cancel the only flight from Santiago to Geneva (there are only a few flights each week during this period of the year)

Does anybody have any experience traveling from Santiago to Switzerland or can offer some alternate methods that might be suitable?

Thanks

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hello jirit,

Although i have not taken this particular flight from scq to gva, i would not worry about easyjet. They have 3 flights per week towards the end of october and are pretty reliable in terms of flight cancellation. The other alternative is to fly to madrid and then to geneva with other airlines, but they are quite expensive.

On the other hand a train journey takes too long and will involved 3 changes through paris.

Hello Jirit,

I flew Santiago to Geneva last year in November: no problem at all.
The plane was almost full, so I wouldn't fear a cancellation...

BR, Jacques-D.

PS: Another option is the Alsa bus, but it takes around 28 hours...

I will pass on your comments to my wife. We did as a back up consider a train trip to Madrid and catching an easyjet flight from there to Geneva.

Sounds like Easy Jet should not be a problem. I wonder if the TAP flight through Lisbon to Geneva would be easier/quicker than training to Madrid...

Funny thing happened on the way to forum...

My wife has gone ahead and booked her seat for the late October departure after discovering that the number of available seats were quickly disappearing and price was jumping. Probably got the last of special price seats.
