Hello fellow pilgrims,
I leave New York September 9th to Madrid and hope to start my camino on the 11th from SJP. It's an exciting time for me because not only will I fulfill a dream since taking my first medieval history course, but I will also celebrate my "middle age" while on the camino. Earlier this year, I also made the decision to retire which will give me more time to prepare physically and spiritually for this journey. It seems like an obsession, a delightful one, but I have to say, I feel so strongly good about what I am preparing to do. I have been reading your posts for many months now and thank you all for helping me to get ready. I will have my forum badge on my backpack and when you see me (wearing a straw hat) say hello! I do hope to meet some of you, if not all and perhaps we can sit for awhile and have a vino tinto. Buen Camino!
