I have not heard from my daughter in six days and am becoming concerned about her whereabouts , her name is Aviva Thal she is a 20 year old American with brown hair, 5'3" and we last heard from her August 1 in Astorga, I am wondering if Wifi in that area is spotty? If anyone has seen her or heard anything I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I wish you luck in finding your daughter. There could be many reasons she has slipped from communication so I wouldn't be too worried just yet. It's possible she's just absorbed in her journey. I can't speak for your daughter, but I am rarely in communication with my family when I am on my journeys. Often spirituality and thorough enjoyment means abandoning everything in your 'normal' life temporarily.

If you post a picture those currently walking may respond, or mention your post to her. It is very easy to loose touch while walking as mentioned above.

Thank you everyone! I just heard from Aviva this morning, looks like she tried texting days ago but nothing went through , such a relief! She has 5 days of walking left!
If she has her phone with her you can use it to keep track of her location. I don't know if this works with all phones, but with my android phone I can use Google Plus to allow my family to know my exact location using Google location services.

If you use the View Ranger app on your phone for mapping your walks or viewing/organising your tracks then you can add BuddyBeacon.

They say:
"An important feature of ViewRanger is our free location sharing tracker service called BuddyBeacon. It allows you to share your real-time mapped location with friends to see via the app on their smartphone or via our web portal. Equally, you can see their location on your mobile or through the web."

Basically you get a username and a 4 digit PIN number. You give both to your nearest and dearest and when they log in to VR they can see where you are . . . if your phone is live and gps switched on of course! I have it but have never used it.

So relieved for you! My mother's heart would be in pieces to not hear from my daughter for six days! Find friends is a good idea...
