On the top step twice. now on step below - going on 8 May

I am now doing my annual shuffle between the top and the penultimate steps; after nine times this has become the norm. Looking forward to late October and starting off again.

Carpe Diem!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
On the top step once. now on the step below - going on 27th May and on to Finisterre /Muxia then taking a bus to Porto to do 12 days of the Camino Portuguese back to Santiago.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Having reached the top step I think I will always be back at step 3 ,"I want to do it" again. Always, though, I feel it will be my last, so step 2 follows step 3 for me. "I can't do it." I have difficulty walking like many of us oldies and so step 4 "How do I do it?" looms large - I even looked at 4x4 wheelchairs before my last Camino. Then I just walked it with a walking stick. The "I can do it" phase comes after a few days walking the Camino when it dawns on me that if I keep doing just one day at a time I'll reach Santiago.
In the end, I just set out as an act of surrender and trust knowing that in the end, if I don't make it, then so be it, because one day I will have to hang up my sandals.

Freescot: I suspect this one will keep us oldies going for many years to come: 4x4: Bicyclists will be peanuts on the Camino compared to us... Notice the integrated walking stick and SDs (Stone Detectors)...;)

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I love this! So true for me. Currently on the 2nd to top step, impatiently waiting for September when I get to the top. Will be booking flights in a couple of days when a term deposit matures. I would even add a step below the bottom step, which for me was "The what? Who on earth would want to do that?!" The Camino somehow got under my skin despite such initial (apparent) lack of interest. From all that I've read on this Forum, it seems like it does that to a lot of us!

I was standing firmly on "I WILL, " looked at the chaos and all the things to be done here, tripped and landed on "HOW?"

After a day or two of panic, I am working on one item at a time. I will still be flying on April 10. If some things do not get done......well....hopefully I prioritized well. Cannot wait to be at the airport unplugged and with a boarding pass instead of a to do list.

I am wondering how you disconnect, in part, from the world. I have a couple of reasons that I need to be accessible but, I don't want to be constantly connected on this journey. Ideas?
I struggle with social anxiety and I was wandering if anybody with the same issue had a positive experience on the Camino walking alone. I saw lots of posts and videos people talking about forming...
