Hey you All -- wanted to tap in sooner, but acutally have been doing a blog, so my typeing time has been busy (have never done a blog before, so pretty interesting and addictive) -- So I am now in Pamplona after three grueling days -- Had to walk the valley route out of SJPdP since the mountain route was still recommended as a no go -- for those of you that think the valley route is not a challenge -- hold that thought - hardest thing I have done since Ranger School (ok -- 3 decades ago -- but hopefully you get the drift). First Albergue in Roncesvalles was really great -- the folks were very helpful and efficient -- actually attended Palm Sunday Service in the old Church and then a Pilgram's Meal -- Second day pushed to Larrasoana where I stayed at a new Albergue called Albergue San Nicolas -- the folks there were wonderful! Third day was a short hike only 15 kms but wanted to see Pamplona -- beautiful city! (plus had a buddy living there so got to meet up with him and have a beer togehter) -- Will not throw the blog site out -- probably not very PC, but if you are interested in it -- shoot me an email -- only one blister so far, which I have taken care of and my fault for not setting the heel of my boot (my right foot has always been a probem) -- The Pilgrims I have met on the El Camino have been fascinating -- tomorrow (acutally today, since I could not sleep) will push to Puente La Reina -- Weather has been perfect for walking (so far) - thanks to all the folks who have contributed to this site -- very helpful information for a first timer - to all of the other first timers -- once you get started i.e. take the first step -- the uncertainty will will go away and the Pilgrims you meet will guide you -- since I am not on a budget - stayed at a hotel in Pamplona -- La Perla (Where Hemingway stayed) -- and enjoyed a hot bath, with the opportunity to get the body ready for the next push -- sorry for any typing or spelling mistakes in advance -- going back to bed-- Buen Camino!
