Hi I am hoping to walk my first camino in july 2016 and wondering if there is a list of pp in the forum doing so please? I have jz decided to retire so will be free to walk The Way ,something i hv thought about for the past few years. As this is the "Year of Mercy" there will be, I am sure, thousands of pp, but wonder if there are any list on the forum.

Although I like to think I am rather fit (having walked Snowdon twice last summer) the idea of being lost alone in the Pyrenees (being very poor at reading maps and navigation skills) is quite terrifying so am thinking of starting in Pamplona.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hello! There will be lots of people in July, I'm pretty sure of it so you won't be alone. As for getting lost, as long as the weather is good, I can't imagine it. The way is well marked and pretty straightforward. IF there is bad weather, on the other hand, do not even attempt to take the 'Napoleon way', go through Valcarlos instead.
Should you decide to start from St Jean Pied de Port, check with the Pilgrim's Office first, they'll tell you the weather conditions and can answer all your questions and put your mind at rest.
All this said, starting from Pamplona is good too!
Whatever you decide, I wish you a buen Camino :)

The walk from St Jean over the Pyrenees to Roncesvalles is well marked and you should have no problem staying on the right path. Nothing to be terrified about, and it's not a wilderness walk.
If you are walking it in July in all likelihood the weather will be good and there will be many fellow pilgrims walking out of St Jean with you.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi thanks for your responses... another few questions (1) do I need extra insurance or the EHIC card suffices for medical treatment should one needs it? (2) if I wish to start my camino at pamplona etc rather than SJDP, can I still buy my credential pasport or do I then hv to order prior? (3) any recommendations for a super lightweight but warm summer sleeping bag please?

Thanks

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
You might find it useful to check the calendar. There is a link at the top of the page, but I have copied it here ->> https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/calendar/ for convenience. Not everyone uses it, and continue to use a thread. They might point you to that as well. Either way, you will get some idea who else from the forum will be walking. There will be many others.

what's your budget?
they make some very lightweight summer bags, but they are also very expensive..
if you want something priced more reasonably you might look at the Marmot Nano Wave 45 or 55...both under two pounds and less than $100
