Bag Transfer to Santiago for Post-Camino Travel

Plan to walk Camino Frances spring or fall 2016
Greetings fellow pilgrims...and thanks to Ivar and all for this forum.

Excited to be starting the CF first week of Sept. Since I have no deadline to be back home, I bought a 1-way ticket so I can adjust my daily pace as needed. Also I may want to travel a bit once I finish my walk.

So my idea is to bring a separate "post-Camino" bag which I hope to have transferred from SJPP directly to Santiago. And I would like to be able to pick it up at an unspecified date.

I understand there are many bag transport services, but they typically seem to deliver for pickup on a specified date. This is a bit different, so wondering if anyone has any recommendations on how to set this up.

Many thanks in advance...

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Actually, it's quite common to do this. I used Express Bourricot last year, and I was very happy with the service, which couldn't be easier. You simply go to their office, and after paying them they will give you a tag to attach to your suitcase. In the morning before you start walking you just leave your suitcase at your gite or hotel. They will pick it up and take it to Santiago, where it's kept for you at Hostal Lasalle, until you pick it up - no time limit. The hostal will even give you a discount on a room. I paid about the same price for a private room with bath as my friends paid for just a bed in an albergue.
