Camino Frances - March 12, 2024
Curious to know/see if anyone is in this route at the moment. I am in Leon currently, but starting my camino in Ponferrada in a few days. I havent seen any peregrinos yet. It scares me to think I will be walking alone when I start.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

I havent seen any peregrinos yet.
I expect that if you go to the Camino entrance to the city, you will see them. It can be harder to recognize pilgrims when they are without their packs in a big city, especially if you are new to the experience and can't recognize the signs! :) I can't imagine that you won't see pilgrims once you get to an albergue in Ponferrada and start walking.

Buen Camino! 🚶‍♀️

You are categorically not alone! In about three weeks we’ll have the first ‘bed race’ post.

You have chosen a good time to start.,

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Leon has a population of around 448,000. Even 400 pilgrims are unlikely to stand out. The 40 or so currently searching for a Menu Peregrino are probably invisible

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Why stress? Why worry? Let this be a little valuable lesson for your camino. You have so much to be thankful for and letting go of control and expectations and fears and thoughts can help set you free. Don't project and let things just unfold with every step you take. Just remember how lucky you will are that you have be given this golden opportunity to be accepted by the Camino..

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Cherish with your entire being you have this solitude in which to refresh your spirit, in whatever way that is appropriate for you. St Jimmy the Everpresent Encourager is rightalongside you!

They’re in the cafe opposite the Cathedral. (Possibly)

Fear not, there are always pilgrims! Check in to that albergue in Ponferrada and you will have company immediately. Or just meet them on the Way on your the first morning.

Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.

And another attempt looms, to buy a decent Poncho after trying and failing in the previous two likely towns. Anyone know where an Altos or similar might be bought in Leon, please? 😁
