Hi all, I'm debating walking the Mozarabe from Malaga this September (It's between this route and the coastal Portuguese). I'll have about 2 weeks, I don't really mind where I end up making it to, as long as I can get back to Malaga easily enough to fly back home to the UK.
I've been searching...
Sur in English has an article with interesting background information regarding the Mozárabe from Malaga:
Nowadays the towns of Almogía and Villanueva de la Concepción are linked by one stage of the Mozarabic Way of St James, a route that runs through Malaga province. This hiking route allows...
...I’ve just returned from the Portuguese and fancy a quieter route for next year.
I’m thinking of starting the Mozárabe with the section from Malaga to Baena next spring (2025) late March/early April to avoid Semana Santa.
Does anyone have any recent experience (ie post Covid) of this...
I plan to start the Mozarabe from Malaga the first week in April. Anyone who has started from here, can you recommend:
A place to stay
Where can I get a Pilgrim passport ?
Where is the first marker?
Anything else of interest about this route?
I have walked this route from Almeria but want to...
Hi Folks Can anyone tell me if the Municipal Albergues from Malaga to Cordoba are open at the moment. I'm leaving Malaga to walk on the 28th February 2024
Thank you
I'm heading to Malaga today to walk 100km or so north for my last few days in Spain. I know the municipal in Amogía will be open, (the hospi is a phone call away) beyond that, I'll have to see how it goes. Has anyone walked this way recently, or can anyone share any info from recent times? Have...
A heads up for anyone planning a camino from Malaga...Whilst planning my next camino to Cordoba, I noticed that Gronze lists the various stages, distances and accommodation options (mostly available on Booking.com), but there's little to no mention of the municipal albergues that are shown in...
...researching for the right route. I've walked several caminos (Portuguese, del Norte, French and a few smaller ones). I've booked to fly into Malaga in late October. I am keen to see Granada, and my walking partner is interested in seeing Seville. I understand there are camino routes out of...
Our flights are booked, and we're planning our return to the Camino.
My darling and I walked from Almería last year, starting on 22 September. We also walked the Jaén branch. Unfortunately, we had to interrupt our Camino as there had been a death in my darling's family.
We have decided to...
Hey all,
I finished my 4th Camino a couple of weeks back and am flying out of Málaga tomorrow after a bit of holiday - and packing this morning I suspect my bag is too heavy. I bought a pair of cheap Decathlon poles in Vigo as replacements and would be willing to donate them to any pilgrim who...
Hello, first time posting. Had problems getting wifi first few nights but here we are in Villueneva de Algaidas.
Day 1 started in Malaga. Took the #21 bus to get out of town to El cortijuelo (1.40 euro), can pay on bus.
Crossed the street and started our walk. This was a very difficult walk...
Hello again,
I will be walking the Mozárabe from Málaga. I took the AVE train from Cuenca to Málaga (via Madrid) yesterday. (I stopped my Camino de la Lana in Cuenca.)
I arrived to Málaga late in the evening yesterday. I had to stay at a youth hostel *gasp*: Hostal Málaga Centro, 27 euros. I...
As I’m in Malaga this week on a language course I took the opportunity to seek out the local amigos of the Camino Mozerabe.
They are a delightful bunch who replied to my email within minutes (Gracias Señora Lola) and I was able to meet them at their regular Tuesday evening upstairs in a small...
Looking at gronze.com it looks like there are long gaps in accommodation at the moment. I don't mind a 30-35km walk but doing a marathon each day might be a little much. Has anyone done this route recently and can confirm the state and distance between accommodations and places to eat along this...
A few years back, I began the Camino Mozarabe in Malaga.
I really enjoyed the several days I walked it and my blog is full of photos of the trail and lodgings if anyone is interested.
I only walked as far as Cuevas, then hopped onto the Camino Madrid to finish it.
I often will go 2-3 weeks...
Hello, I'm arriving in Malaga on Wednesday. I wonder if anyone could anyone please give me any information about the following:
Any ideas on bike hire in Malaga?
What it's like cycling the Mozarabe from Malaga to either Cordoba or Merida?
Is it possible to take bikes on buses or trains after...
