"Hi, this is my first ever post"
Brilliant. Lots of information here when you search threads. If you are fit and independent you will have no problems. Walked happily this way but stopped shy of Lourdes. Your surname is French?
Failure? Don’t think so.
Maybe a day or two hobbling around your immediate location or next village. I think you should leave thoughts about bike for the moment as you know already you can cover distances , and I believe your dream is to walk the entire route.
Buen Camino to you on this Friday...
Enjoy planning and anticipation. I was age early 40 before I heard about Camino revival. Almost 50 before my first etapa, just a week. All will be well for you. You are adventurous.
Buen Camino.
Here's link to another thread by Nev who walked "spring into summer".

His diary blog is available via link in first post.
Buen Camino.
Last year while on Promitivo there was a Belgian with a ukulele. I always saw him carrying it and striking up sounds as he walked or met people. Think he only acquired it for his walk from Belgium.
Yes, take your talent and fun along.
Buen Camino.
Sara you might not need thermal leggings but hat & gloves should be in your backpack, Gloves are great in damp/cool mornings. Enjoy your walk; it's great, very exciting getting boats etc.
Buen Camino.
Al, Enjoy the anticipation, planning & usual you know what! Looking forward to updated information plus light hearted remarks. Previously walked from Madrid to Leon
Buen Camino.
divinewarrior , go for it. All will be well. I got the bug way back in 2007! Be good to yourself and you will be fine. Camino Frances will welcome you with open arms.
Buen Camino
Hi Sarah,
You have lots of options. But it's hard to beat your first encounter via Camino Frances. You have been thinking about this, so I imagine Santiago de Compostella is your destination eventually. It will be there always, so from my experience do not rush. All will be well.
Buen Camino.
Buen Camino Maryb,
I pray that all will be well with you as you take your first steps on the Camino. All will be well as you march along each day. St. Jacques & Santiago & your new found neighbours will support you each day. Perhaps the braver step for you was joining the forum!
Buen Camino.
Chrissy, Golf is a good walk spoiled. El Camino is the best present you'll ever give yourself.
Edit : Mig watch this space. Have you considered a Caddie to carry your rucksack? :) Brilliant!
We wish you well Charlie.
I think the Camino is a safe way to be brave and adventurous for a young person like yourself.
As Johnnie hints it's not just the destination, but the journey and all that it entails as you live one month of your life in the open air.
Buen Camino.
Investigate Ryanair from Santiago to Madrid and then on to Dublin using skyscanner.net
I managed the Dublin City Marathon in 1983 just under 3hrs. Are you going to run some of Camino?
