Is Albergue Gabino open as of 26 April, 2022 in El Gonzo?
Thank you! Much appreciated!!!Are you referring to the village of El Ganso?
Then no the Albergue Gabino is still closed. The Gronze website is normally very well up to date.

They were open in the fall so perhaps they are just waiting a bit longer. Are you referring to the village of El Ganso?

Yes!!! - However, not answering phone or emails (and Gronze says closed), so was hoping for a real-time "I stayed there last night" kind of answer. Really appreciate everyone's input!!! Thank you!According to their facebook page they're open
I got a reply yesterday stating that San Blas is closedJust east of El Ganso in Santa Catalina de Somoza you might enjoy the hospederia San Blas which is listed here in Gronze as open.
During earlier years I stayed there often and enjoyed it.
Super! Thank you so much!!! I will pass it along : )May be too late for you, but I got a WhatsApp text back that says they are open.
I'll let my sis know - she is vegetarian so will be delighted if it is : )Phil stayed at the albergue last fall and did not enjoy the meal. He is not vegetarian and I think the meal was vegetarian and perhaps not as plentiful as he wanted. The albergue dorms were spacious and there were not a lot of other pilgrims when he was there. When he got to Foncebaden the next day it was the beginning of a Spanish holiday. Many Spanish tour buses and he got the last bed in town at the donativo. His backup plan was to cab back to El Ganso for a second night for a bed if needed.
We stayed in an apartment in El Ganso in 2016 when Phil had a bad cold on the Camino. I was able to buy some stuff to make chicken soup in the little apartment kitchen. The rate for the apartment was pricey, but worth it since we both slept well and had comfort food. The owner of the tienda gave him some "ginger" hard candies since there was no cold medicine available for purchase in town.
Ask her if the Cowboy Bar is open when she is there? It was closed when my husband walked through last October.I'll let my sis know - she is vegetarian so will be delighted if it is : )
