Are there walking sticks for sale in IRUN?

Does anyone know if I can buy an inexpensive wooden walking stick in IRUN (similar to the ones they sell in SJPDP) ? Need it for the downhills. Thanks

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hola, waywardMule, Decathlon have a super store in Irun. I do not know if they stock wooden hiking poles but I have seen other types for sale in Decathlon stores in both France and Spain. Here's a link to the Irun store. You might like to contact them. They are situated in the commercial zone.

There are other boutique sports stores in Irun, too, within a ten minute walk of the Tourist Office. You might ask there as well.

Pilgrim numbers departing Irun are small. Nothing like the thousands departing SJPdP. I do not recall seeing Camino staffs and shells or souvenirs on obvious display. That's not to say that there aren't any, just that I didn't notice them.....

ps there is a Decathlon store in Bayonne/Biarritz, too. On a regular bus route from the town centre. And in St-Jean-de-Luz, half way between Biarritz and Irun there is a large Intersport store.
