Greetings fellow Periginos.
I will be arriving into Bayonne late on the 20th of May and hoping to catch the last train to St Jean pied de port. I was wondering if it's necessary to pre-book a seat on the train...

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
You cannot reserve a seat on the TER train to SJPDP. You could buy a ticket in advance online if you like but that does not include a seat reservation
Thanks, that's good to know. I was concerned that the train might be full if I hadn't a ticket in advance. But it seems you can just turn up and buy the ticket then and there. I don't mind standing room, I just want to be able to get on the train.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

A few years ago I was on the train at Bayonne station ready to leave. The train staff decided it was too overcrowded and took 15 passengers off the train. I was one of them. We were sent to SJPDP by taxi at SNCF's expense.
