Time of past OR future Camino
Stage by stage we are getting there.
Can you help please, arriving into Burgos late to start our third stage of the Camino, want to stay outside the city so we can head off early en route to Hernillos del Camino. Will get a taxi from bus station but would like to book hotel / hostal before we arrive.
Thank you

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

There are any number of hotel websites available from which to select a place to stay with information regarding location and cost.

I use Expedia.ca.

The bus station in Burgos is centrally located. You could probably hit a half dozen places to stay with a rock from the main entrance.

One simple place on the western side of the city and on the camino is the Hotel Puerto Romeros. Here is their web. I have never stayed there but often stop for a morning coffee on the way out of town. It is run by a friendly, helpful family.

It and other Burgos selections with Booking.com links are listed in this Gronze. com site.

Buen camino!

We stayed in Hotel Abadia, which is about 3kms outside Burgos and near the University. It's spotlessly clean and it's right on the Camino. The staff were very helpful. It could be a nice little walk for you when you get off the bus, especially if you want to get your credential stamped and have a meal in the city. Or, if you arrive early in the day and want to go back to the city, there are regular buses.

However - it's a 'functional' place to stay, rather than a Camino experience. All in all, it worked fine for us as we spent the afternoon in Burgos, had a late lunch and picked up some basic provisions in a supermarket on our way to the hotel. We had fruit and yogurt in our room before leaving the next morning at around 6.30am. We were glad of the great sleep and the feeling that we had a 'head start' - especially since we were walking to Hontanas in intense heat.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I stayed in El Punto Hotel just along from the Cathedral. 80e for two nights for one. previously stayed in the gorgeous hotel Norte y Londres, maybe a bit more expensive, cant remember, sorry

Hotel Fernan Gonzalez is about two blocks away from the bus station and about four from the cathedral. It will be close to 40€ a night. The lobby looks like it came out of the XVII century. The rooms are very nice.
