Hi, I plan on walking the camino next April and want to share it with my partner, but she is not able to do the walking. Is there public transportation between the main towns that she could use to meet me at next nightly destination?

Thank you, from an excited newbie!

Welcome to the forum Theresa!

Most of the towns are connected by train/bus lines but some remote villages could be left out. I think not many though. But there is always a possibility to call a cab or a hospitalero might give your partner a lift. It's not really unusual to send backpacks ahead and sometimes people are busing due to time restrains or injuries. You two will be just OK.

Ultreia!

Hmm the more I think about it this would give you both the individual freedom & fun of the Camino. As what I found so much fun was the ability to find an adventure with every step & the wonderful companion ship at the end of the day.
Enjoy what I found to be a ribbon of souls

There is good bus service between most of the stops on the Camino Frances.
It will be necessary to do some planning so that you have the bus schedules. Not always easy to find so you will have to make it part of your day.

A good bit of adventure if you are not fluent in Spanish..but really kind of fun to work it out. I have done this when my wife was injured. She took a bus forward for several days and I walked.

It will work out...

We met some people who did this. The tourist offices in the larger town gave them good advice as it can be hard to find some of the bus schedules online. It was simple enough until Burgos but from what I can recall, there is less bus coverage in some parts of the Meseta. You should therefore budget for a few taxi journeys.

Also bear in mind that she will not be able to stay in albergues, so you will need to find, and most likely reserve, other accommodation each day. Buen Camino, SY

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
