Hi all,

ruta_arousa.jpg

Tomorrow I will be doing a Camino. I say doing since i will take a boat a bit and then walk a bit. Nothing like the "hard core" pilgrims that walk from Leon or Roncesvalles, but it will be a nice little trip (may I can it a pilgrimage?).

Here is my plan:

Day 1:
We leave tomorrow (Friday October 2nd 2009) from Sanxenxo (A bit north of Vigo on the Galician west coast) in a Sailboat. Picnic on one of the small islands for lunch and then into Villagarcia for the night. Will sleep in the boat.

Day 2:
From Villagarcia to Pontecesures by a smaller lighter boat since the sailboat can not enter here (too shallow waters). Pontecesures is 2km from Padron on the Camino Portuguese, so we will walk to Padron for lunch.

After lunch we walk on to Rua de Francos. We take inn at a "Casa Rural" (Rural house) and they will make us a nice Galician dinner there.

Day 3: We walk into Santiago for Pilgrims mass at 12.00.

So that's the plan. My Travel Agency will offer this trip for groups next year, so this is our "dry-run".

Will bring camera and take pictures!

Greetings from Santiago,

The combination of environments-land and sea- is intriguing, it sounds like a wonderful journey to make.
Bon Voyage!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Ivar,

Your trip sounds great, I hope you enjoy it. Do you perhaps have another map which shows all the towns you mention? Maybe it's just my tired eyes, but I only found Vilagarcia on the map you provided and I'd very much like to see the whole route.

Hi there,

Have a look at this google map, it has some more details.

We started in Sanxenxo, stopped over and slept in Villagarcia. Continued on up to Pontecesures, and walked the Camino Portugese from there.

More on this later.... :)
