I plan to walk the Camino Portugues during the last week of october and the first week of november this year (2009). Everything is ready, I just have to buy my plane-tickets...
As a new member of this forum I took a look along all the topîcs and found an alarming message in the topic "Snowstorms paralyze parts of Spain" (15 dec 2008).
Do you think there is a great chance that this could happen begin november or was this probable an exception?
Can anyone tell me if the refugios, hostals... along the camino portugues will be open in the period above ?
I really look out for your reactions
with many thanks in advance
Mark

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Don´t worry. Just do it. It rains a lot in November, but I´ve never heard of blizzards then. And even when the blizzards hit, the officials saw it coming and took safety precautions.

Last winter was exceptionally snowy and cold. Let´s hope it was a one-off!

I am planning to walk from Tui to Santiago in January (ocassional pilgrimage during my visit to Santiago). Just need to trust St.James. If it's going to be snowy or windy- thats great; I will appreciate my cosy bed more, when I'll come back.

Hello,

I've walked the Camino Portuguese several years ago on february and climate was quite warm for the supposed one. As the sea is close to the Camino, the weather never is too hard. But, may be very wet and rainy.

Buen Camino,

Javier Martin
Madrid, Spain.

Hello, I lost my GoPro with all my pictures on the Camino between Pedra Furada and Aborim last week. Is there a lost and found in SDC? Any other ideas? Thanks and Buen Camino.
I’ll be finishing the Caminho Português next month. Last year I wore Hoka Challenger 6 ATR shoes. I did have some blisters and foot pain, but a lot could have been due to the 30+km days from...
