Hi I am a first timer looking to do the Sanabres from Ourense next year. I only have 10 days to start either end April/early May or end June. I am wondering whether out of the two options there might be a better time weather wise? Will end June be too warm or end April too cool/wet? Thanks

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
It is likely to be drier and warmer in late June. Weatherspark is a useful site with lots of stats from previous years. But no one can tell if next year will be "typical".

Thank you, I guess that even during a heatwave this part of the walk will be a little cooler than further south?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The NW corner of Spain usually avoids the very worst of the heatwaves. Can still be uncomfortably hot at times. There is no way to predict heatwaves so far in advance though. Just have to pick a time that looks promising then keep your fingers crossed

I walked the Sanabres this year from May 19 arriving Santiago June 1. Not quiet your dates but there or there about. Overall the weather was very good. While there was the odd cool night and early morning particularly at elevation. The weather pattern tended to be overcast mornings that burnt off with midday sun. This brought with it some humidity which led to thunderstorms and torrential rain in the afternoons, usually from 4ish on. There was only one day when I had to put on rain gear where it rained in the morning and that was light and only for a couple of hours. Overall, the temperatures were very comfortable, certainly a lot more bearable than the heatwave leaving Sevilla at the end of April.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I left them on the trail about 4-5 k before Cea I expect to be in Santiago on April 27-28. Mu email is written on the sides of the poles (for just this eventuality). If you find them and we can...
