Catch Easyjet flight 7:00 AM at CDG - do-able?

Camino Frances (2013)
Hello all,

I'm staying one night in Paris then flying to Biarritz the next morning. The only flights available with Easyjet are 7:00 AM and then again at 6:30 PM....the PM fight is too late.

I know the metro is pretty easy to navigate but I'm not sure what time in the morning the trains start running and how long it will take to get to CDG from the hostel.

Any ideas, suggestions?

Thanks,
Angela

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
You have lots of options for a flight at that time. I would take the first option that I outline below and then the RER B into the city for the day and back to the airport in the evening for an easier low stress departure the next morning.

You could stay at a cheap CDG airport hotel (The Ibis http://www.ibis.com/gb/hotel-1404-ibis-paris-cdg-airport/index.shtml) is fine, or a nicer one (The Pullman http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-0577-pullman-paris-charles-de-gaulle-airport/index.shtml).

You could stay at a hotel near the airport and take one of the shuttles that these hotels provide. There are lots in Roissy (a bit of a hassle though).

You could take a taxi to the airport.

You could stay at Orly airport and travel by Air France to Biarritz. At Orly you have the Hilton and another Ibis. From Orly, there are also flights offered by Air France at perhaps more suitable times during the day.

The RER B train does not start early enough really and wouldn't be worth the risk, given that CDG is a monstrous pain at the best of times. http://parisbytrain.com/paris-rer-b-schedule-stations-interchanges/

Hi Angela, it always amazes me that people fly Paris to Biarrirz when you can have such a wonderfully relaxing journey thru the beautiful French countryside on the TGV train. I always consider a TGV ride one of the highlights of a visit to France.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Thank you NoQ, staying in Orly is a fabulous idea, I would have never thought of. I'm going to do it and take Air France to Biarritz. More departure times and less expensive than EasyJet.

Thanks again and Buen Camino,
Angela

Hi gerardcarey, I totally agree, the French countryside is beautiful and amazing. I'm traveling by air because I've seen the countryside, it's cheaper and faster. I really want to spend time in St Jean, just wondering around, relaxing and talking with other pilgrims before my BIG adventure. Maybe this is why others do it too.
Buen Camino,
Angela
