Time of past OR future Camino
Planning on June 2017
Hello fellow pilgrims! I am in envy of all who will be starting the walking portion of your camino soon! I wish I were but I need to wait another 19 months - yuck! Anyway, as we all know our camino starts the day we say we are going to do it and for me that was December 1, 2014. I am planning on beginning in September 2016. As I read all of the posts I am vicariously getting prepared. It is a snowy day where I am (Rhode Island, USA) and I decided to go down into the cellar and bring my camping gear up to my apartment. I had fun going through the box and seeing what I have, checking the condition and making a note of what I need to get.

My plan is to purchase what I need gradually over these months. Some things like boots and clothing I'll get close to my departure date (boots probably six months before). had fun surfing Campmor, REI, and LL Bean sites. There is an REI store 10 minutes away which I think I'll visit soon.

So this is what I have:
Lowe Alpine backpack
Kelty sleeping bag
Pack rain cover
3 stuff sacks
Headlamp
Trowel (never know - might need it)

Need to get:
Clothes
Boots
Maybe a lighter sleeping bag
Rain jacket/poncho
Hat
Buff

Of course not an exhaustive list but I am going to have fun getting everything. My gift wishlist is now REI gift certificates! :)

Thanks for the inspiration!
Blessings and Buen Camino!

Jen

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Buen Camino, Jen! Planing is great fun isn't it and shopping for walking gear is kind of a 'easily justifiable retail therapy'! Enjoy the preparation time! SY

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
