discount air fare: Iberia - Santiago to London

Hello

We are hoping to travel from Santiago back to London at the end of our Camino, at the beginning of October. I understand that Iberia offers a 50% discount if you present the "camino passport". Can we book our Santiago to London flights now and take advantage of the discount? Since we will need to connect from London back to Canada we don't want to leave the booking of Santiago to London until we reach Santiago.

Hope someone has some advice because we need an answer asap.

Thanks, this site has been most helpful.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hi there,

I think this Iberia discount was popular some years ago, but with the arrival of the low cost airlines I am not sure if it is around. As far as I remember, the discount was only on the expensive tickets and at the end it came out to not being such a good deal after all. I also think it was available if you bought it at a travel agent in Santiago. I am not 100% sure of all this, but I think that this is how it was.

Now, with the arrival of RyanAir you should have a look at their prices as well. Check http://www.ryanair.com . Please note that they may fly into a different airport in London than your Canadian flight, so make sure to have enough time to change airport.

Greetings from Santiago,
Ivar

Ryanair flights are very good and you can get some great deals, especially if you book well in advance. I've flown with them to and from several parts of Spain and not had any problems.

Note that the point about getting the right airport is important - Ryanair flies from Santiago to London Stansted and that's quite a way from London Heathrow and London Gatwick. Unless your plane is not until the early evening, you may find you need to factor in a night in the UK.
