Can I call Albergues before arriving to reserve three bed/spots? (I'll have three in my party) If so, how far in advance will they take a reservation? Can it be reserved with a credit card, like hotels?
Leaving for Spain Sunday 7/26!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
No reservations at the municipal albergues on the Camino Frances.
Many of the private albergues do take reservations and you can call ahead.
Research, decide where you want to stay and locate telephone numbers and call ahead. You don't need to secure the reservation with a credit card as far as I know.

As Mark said, use private albergues and call ahead. I just ever had to give my name and the approx time of arrival and that was for same day reserving.

Try the website www:eek:nlypilgrims.com. They list private albergues along the Camino Frances, they can be booked weeks ahead and you pay them via credit card (they make 1 euro per booking). You can book more than 1 bed at a time. I used them about 12 times on my CF This past May -June
