Does anyone know what is going on in Santiago in September?

"Does anyone know what is going on in Santiago in September? I've been
trying to reserve a hotel room for Sept 27-30, and everywhere I've
tried is completely booked! (Airas Nunes, Costa Vella, Pazos Alba,
plus a number of others...) I haven't tried Seminario Mayor because it
sounds like dorm rooms, and I'd like a little better, but will try that
next.

Other ideas? Somewhere no one knows about??

Thanks,
Linda"

Question from another group but I thought best asked here.

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
I did check the Compostela Cultural Agenda here:
http://www.compostelacultura.org/axenda.php

... but could not find anything. It should be said that usually they do not update this until a few weeks before... there might still be something going on even if it does not show up here.

I will ask a few people today and see if they know of anything.

Saludos,
Ivar

When I was there last year, from Sept 30 to Oct 2, there was a fairly large gathering of police officials from all over Spain and Portugal celebrating their patron Saint (forgot who He is...)

Maybe they are coming back in larger number this year.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Rooms in September

Hi William,
I hope your friend has found a room in Santiago in September.
Perhaps they were trying to book online too early?? This week I managed to get two rooms at the Hostal Suso for 27th and 28th September.
If she is still searching let her try the Hostal Pazo Agra. It is conveniently situated up the hill, close to the market. It is about 36 euro for a double room and there is place for bikes in the foyer. I have stayed there on two visits and it was very comfortable. You can book online at http://www.hostelz.com/hostel/7124-Hostal-Pazo-de-Agra
