I had the pleasure of making most my walk earlier this year with a Korean gentleman name Basilio: minimally equipped with guitar, the clothes on his back and a few other small items as we left Roncesvalles on Jan 12. It quickly became apparent he was kind of a modern day Pied Piper with a few of pilgrims and the locals in the villages. I personally found it hard to be away from him and his phenomenal energy and friendliness. It also became abundantly clear that others were mesmerized and drawn in as soon as he would begin singing.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Wonderful!

Strip out the guitar and this fellow was basically walking with the clothes on his back. I would LOVE to see his packing list... Does anyone know what he carried beyond the obvious...?

Does anyone know if he was using a mochila transport service? Not being judgmental. But, it would make logical sense.

Just sayin...

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
His packing list was minimal, planned yet last minute. Returning from a few years in S. America he decided to repeat the Camino Frances. Guitar, laptop and a couple of extra layers to add or remove and a sleeping bag liner. The kind lady that is involved with (runs?) the Aprinca winter list in Fromista (Lourdes?) gave him a slightly more substantial bed roll.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
