Finding a bed in St. Jean after 7:00 PM on August 30?

I will be arriving by taxi on Sunday night, August 30 in St. Jean, probably about 8:00 PM. Should I reserve a hotel room? Do albergues fill up in St. Jean? Are there usually enough accommodations available in St. Jean this time of year? Thanks. By way, I have transportation arranged from Biarritz to St. Jean and have room from 3 more people (Heletaxi).

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Book a place ASAP! The period August 30 through mid September will be very busy. See this Gronze list for some accommodation possibilities.
lf all else fails when you do arrive in SJPdP go to the Pilgrim Office at 39 rue de La Citadelle; they can help you find a bed either in a pilgrim albergue or an hotel when you are on-site.

Good luck and Buen camino!

Yes, I would definitely book a bed. As well as albergues and hotels places listed on the Gronze site, I've found great places through booking.com and AirBnB

Hi Pete, as already stated you have to book a place to stay.
Wish you well and a Buen Camino, Peter.

Thanks. I booked a room at Logis Hôtel Ramuntcho. I assume that reservations are not needed or not possible at the Roncevalles albergues, assuming I arrive by mid-afternoon.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
