Footwear in July...

Camino summer 2016
I will be walking the Camino from mid July. Bought a pair of Karrimor walking boots. Have done a 20km walk to break them in a bit. Very comfy. No blisters and no pain, but my feet were too hot! (I wore Karrimor socks, breathable and quick drying). Any suggestions on really lightweight boots? I like the idea of ankle support - for part of the walk at least. So will probably get some trail shoes or sandals as well.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
I have boots but don't wear them much. About 4 years ago I discovered Salomon trail hiking shoes and have never looked back. They also make boots although I haven't tried those. I'm going to be doing my first Camino in September and will be wearing Salomon shoes and bringing some Keen sandals as backup.

I like treking boots but I think trekking shoes ideal. Remember it takes 3 to 6 months to break in boots shoes. I never got blisters on 11 caminos and 8000 km. I also climb mountains to train and get fit for Camino.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
What kind of boots/shoes are you using? Mine take about a week. Buen Camino, SY

Maybe old style stiff leather boots, but not the newer fabric ones! They should be comfortable right out of the box, but you should test them out for a few walks of increasing length. There may be minor stretching and softening, and different friction points that your feet need to adjust to..
