i'm in the market for a decent VdlP backpack
and my research has taken me across continents (virtual-like)
i am currently being seduced by a Black Diamond pack
locally they come in either 40 or 60 litres
so i'm weighing up options here - trade-off on the weight issue
40lt = 1.2 kg
60lt = 1.7 kays
.
but the actual thing is.....
its suspension system is active, so as your right arm moves forward, the left shoulder strap retreats - beaut
also novel, seems to be the waist belt system - it's on a ball joint, so as your hips move the bag stays supported
the combination seem to make for a v good and comfy ride
these guys seem to make a very clean pack - upright and zero fiddly straps and shi7
.
all camino user reviews and comments please, before I drop a grand of ZARs

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hola - st there must be some in oounds like an interesting innovation. I'd go for the smaller and lighter myself. I can't find any reviews on the UK long distance walker sites right now but experienced walkers must have reviewed this pack - go googling nearer home! Let us know what you find out please.

If you'd like to consider something at under half that weight, have a look at my ultralight pack post here: (I only included packs under 1kg)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Sil's list is great - definitely check it out. Normally I'd suggest going as light as possible, but the pack you mentioned does sound interesting as well. I wonder how much those innovations you talked about would help your back.
