Help! - Bus from Bayonne to SJPdP

Hi All,

I'm not too sure if this issue has been clearly covered before in the forum, I have managed to find posts about buses replacing the train from Bayonne to SJPdP due to rail works between Jan-June 2010, but no time table indicating how frequently they depart.

I would search for the information myself, but my French is embarrassingly poor…

I’m taking the train from Paris to Bayonne on Monday 3rd of May, 2010, & concerned that there would be no bus to take me to SJPdP as the timetables that I have seen have had no buses on Mondays…

Would appreciate any help as the date is looming on the horizon…

Warm Regards, & Buen Camino…

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Thanks Annie,

There is just one small problem, It appears that you cant book tickets from Paris to SJPdP, I have tried via the following websites, and they all say there is no SJPdP or there is a problem with the booking (is anyone else encountering this?).

raileurope.com
tgv.com

Is it just my bad French or do the time tables indicate that there is only one bus per day :?:

I'm guessing that I will have to take a leap of faith and just show up in Bayonne... im sure that I could pay for a ticket on the bus iteself...

I know that these questions may be a bit silly, but im sure this feed will help more than just myself.

Cheers,
Diaz

Diaz..... Just book from Paris to Bayonne..... you quite possibly can't book the bus online but you will be easily able to get a ticket, possibly in Paris, but if not, certainly in Bayonne.

I've just recently been through the same dilemma with the sncf websites. I ended up reserving the TGV from Paris to Bayonne and the autobus from Bayonne to SJPdP separately. For the bus, go to the website (http://www.voyages-sncf.com/) and you should be able to enter Bayonne and St Jean Pied de Port (there is I think a search button to look the latter, as it doesn't appear in the drop down list). You should find there are departures through the day on Mondays - 7:45, 11:47, 15:09 and 18:12. It is possible to book a reservation and you'll get a confirmation which you'll need to take to an SNCF station when you arrive in France to get the actual ticket. I believe the credit card you use to book the reservation must be presented when you pick up your ticket and it must be one with a "chip" in it (but my French is also rudimentary).

Hope this is not too confusing and helps you sort out your best option.
