Hostal Reyes Catolicos to add spa facilities

Someone recently was looking for whirlpools. The paradors in both Santiago and Leon are installing spa-type facilities, such as burbujas (literally, bubbles) and hydro-massage. In the case of Santiago it will be in the annex round the corner. This year's prices: €200 for a double, €160 for individual. San Marcos in Leon currently charges €306 for a bridal suite with 'hydro-massage'.

Wonder what Ferdinand and Isabella would have made of that.

Seems that Reyes Catolicos has the highest occupancy rate of any parador.

Interesting...

...a cheaper alternative would be the Hotel Balneario de Compostela that is located about 15 minutes drive west (on the way to Noia and Finisterre, and actually not far from my house) of Santiago. (By the way balneario = Spa).

I don't think the hotel is located next to the trail out to Finisterre, since that one usually goes through Negreira which is a bit to the north.

They have a special until April for 50 euro / person (in double room) that include room, breakfast and a spa session.
