If I get up Sarria on Saturday-on the 11am bus from SDC.- it arrives about 1:30-2pm. Can I still make it to Portomarin that day(?) I’ll be there mid-October… I looked-the sun doesn’t set until 7:45pm.
Ideas-suggestions… Run fast?😂

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Yes, it's about a 5-hour walk. Take your time and you'll be in Portomarin by dinner.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I’ll kinda Play it by ear… on one hand— it’s good to know it’s about 5 hours of walking— I might be so hyped up— I’ll have energy to burn-haha- the day before— I’ll just be hanging out in SDC- waiting for that morning bus. Can I buy my bus ticket now on Monobus?- hmm … thx!

It took us much longer and we broke it into 2 days due to our age and fitness. Also a big hill first thing out Sarria can be a challenge and again the second day big hill outside of Portomarin. Why rush? Savor your Camino, especially if it will be a short one.

Have dinner down by the river in Sarria and feel the vibe of being a pilgrim.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc

Maybe on sale or not yet. You can probably buy it on site if there are travel delays that change your plans.

Why rush?
Sarria is an awesome little place.
Go to the Pilgrim Mass.
Start next morning.
Unless you have lodging booked in Portomarin, I'd worry about getting a bed arriving that late.

I’ve got a bed booked to Portomarin— so no pressure there— I am looking forward to “wandering around…”- I’m glad sunset isn’t until 7:30pm/early evening- TY🙏

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

You are correct— I went to MonoBus site- it looks like they sell “month-by-month”- Only September is up now-as opposed to selling “30 days out” I’d be there on Oct 14th-and zero tickets are available for all of October yet.
Since I’m “mid-October”- I’m guessing the volume of Pilgrim's have decreased over the August and September volume we are hearing about—because of that I’m feeling Okay to buy it on Friday for a Saturday bus ride- Does that sound about correct?
Ideas- suggestions-?🫶🏼

I think you will be ok to buy in person. If you get nervous about it you buy online when they go on sale. There will be pilgrims that probably started in St Jean and other places before Sarria, but they won't likely be taking the bus from Santiago. I am sure there will be some pilgrims with you on the bus though. Oct. 12 is a national holiday in Spain so there may be more people taking a long weekend in Santiago or walking on the Camino for that reason during that time.

Great heads up about the Holiday on Oct 12- I missed that…very interesting- thank just asked Alexa about the holiday— I’m in the US (not sure if you are)- Our Columbus Day is Oct 9th- the 12th of October in Spain is “their version of Columbus Day-celebrating when Columbus landed in America”-
@J Willhaus -do you know if it will be a 4-day weekend holiday- since the 12th is a Thursday? 🫶🏼
