Is the Wise Pilgrim app updated?

I used the Wise Pilgrim app last year on my phone and it was great. I'm going back to do the Camino Frances in September and the app is still on my phone. Should I purchase a "new version" or is the version still on my phone updated for this year? Sorry if this is a really stupid question.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

No questions are stupid.
You may have to check the settings for "yes - update". I need to download every couple of months, which I think means the site is updating. Not sure.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Had both my books stolen early and downloaded wise pilgrim, it was fantastic only make sure when you email to write your phone number and email address down and remember these Albergues will release your reservation after 3 pm

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Okay, that's what I'm looking for. I haven't seen that option under Settings. Will check again. Thanks!

Hm, I don't see that option under settings; only the option to turn on comments and to change the map to live. I don't remember ever updating Wise Pilgrim. When I open it on my phone right now, it crashes every time I try to open a map. Not sure what that's about. Will try again later.

@JillGat, I have found this happens with applications that have a map download function. My guess is that they use your current location to try and determine what maps to download, but are configured to use a source that does not have mapping data to feed. If Wise Pilgrim is set up to use a Spanish or European map source, they do not necessarily provide mapping data for your current location.

I used Wise Pilgrim in 2015 and again in spring this year. On my phone Wise Pilgrim has been updated in the usual app updates. It was more accurate this year than in 2015. Still a few gaps but that's the same for all guides. Would use it again though have to admit I do have an online Brierley for cross reference for all those times when I wanted to avoid the busy end stages.

Short answer is yes. I know the author of these guides. He lives in Santiago and this is his business. He is always out and about collecting additional information for one of the many guides in this series.

The guidebooks and online guides for the Frances and Portuguese are regularly updated over the year. The lesser used guides are also updated as changes emerge.

As long as you tell your device to update, and it does, you will have the most current version. FYI, the current version for the Camino Frances on iOS is dated February 8, 2017 and is version 2.2.8.

You can also obtain a copy of the just printed Wise Pilgrim Guide for the Camino Frances from Casa Ivar, here. It is sized to fit in a cargo pant pocket, and replicates the app based guide.

I hope this helps.
