- Time of past OR future Camino
- walking every day for the rest of my life
We made it to Santiago some three weeks ago, and have now made it home to NZ.
I would like to thank everyone who gave us advice and made us feel part of the community even before we left home. It was a truly amazing experience for all of us - some of the children want to return (the eleven-year-old has worked out how many hours of working at McDonalds he would need to fund a trip when he is an old twenty year old!), although they prefer the idea of cycling. I hoped to discover that I would love long-distance walking (although due to the restraints of having a 6yr-old and 80yr-old we never went more than 25km in one day) - and it turned out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. We were inspired by the other people we saw walking and have come home with fantastic memories. Visions for the future will take root I am sure.
So thank you.
PS I have ordered The Art of Pilgrimage from the library (that ought to make one reader smile!)
PPS I have filled out the slow pilgrimage spreadsheet which I'll get to another reader soon-ish...we're still catching up on sleep and washing and vegetable garden planting!
Thank you all.
