Last Minute Footwear Change

Time of past OR future Camino
2017 - Camino Frances
2019 - Camino Portugues
I’ve packed crocs on my last Caminos for end of day foot relief. This time I have a few things planned (cooking one evening in San Sebastián with a gastronomy society, Guggenheim visit in Bilbao) … so I ditched the crocs for a pair of Allbird loungers. Very lightweight, closed toe slip-ons, very breathable, super comfy and easy wash ability. I believe Sketchers also has similar options …

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
What's the question? Perhaps you want people to approve of your choice, but, it's whatever makes you happy. If you think the Allbirds are more stylish and would look better when you are cooking with the gastronomy society, so be it. My only question would be durability, but if you are only wearing them for a few hours at night, they probably will be okay

@Michael Mattalo isn't asking a question, merely passing on information about a type of shoe to be considered for evenings after walking that are a bit more stylish than Crocs.

Wow. When did we start eating our own on this forum. I am merely offering an option and suggestion given the various occasions I am planning. Please, I learned at an early age, say nothing unless you have something good to say. Thank you.

That’s a pretty low bar to clear.
Yes, I tend to agree in terms of the bar set for Crocs. In this case, however, it isn't really about style but what is most appropriate given the venues I will be visiting. Recall my post as I wore crocs the prior caminos. If you have cooked in a commercial kitchen, any open-toe footwear would surely not be allowed. So, I sought a solution that ticked a number of boxes and only thought that my suggestion would help others on the forum who may have similar needs. That's it, that's all. But some want to make it a joke or be critical, or insult. That's not my intention so I am sorry if this brought on the ire of others. Nothing intended. Buen Camino. May, you find your happiness and goodness towards others as is the intention of the Camino.

Hi Michael, thanks for the idea for after-walk footwear. Re: critical commenters. There is an “ignore” function so you don’t have to read snarky comments from repeat offenders.

You are welcome. I will be aware of the "ignore" function. Just trying to be helpful.

Sorry, Michael. Come the 26th of August it will be Crocs for me! Buen Camino.😊

Wow, what kind of reply is that after I gave you some great advice and encouragement?

This is meant to be friendly, in case you don't recognise it.
I used to use a box with different coloured circles on all faces - including the underside. In a circle, the people I was working with described what they could see. It was pretty obvious that it depends on your place in the circle what you see. You cannot deny what the person opposite sees. Well, you can if you like! 😁
Then, the final flourish of the underside shows there is always more than anyone individually can see.
The op says if you have nothing positive to say, say nothing.
I agree and try to follow that recommendation.
However, it has been fairly clear recently that there is something in the air. Including horrific headlines in other contexts - we need to be so silent, first. Then, weigh up, and then, respond.
It is Sunday where I am. Peace to all.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Thank you for clarifying. The first part “are you looking for approval” just set the tone (for me) of the message. Blessings on this Sunday.
