Currently on the meseta, can anyone explain the huge increase of Canadian Pilgrims I am meeting over the last few days. All those I have met are themselves mystified by the numbers of their countryfolk out here at present. Also, last night walked into AN IRISH BAR (packed) in the little village of Hornillios Del Camino.Another Camino miracle???.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
That's interesting, as a Canadian walking in the Spring I only met a very few Canadians but a lot of Irish :D Have a wonderful journey

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

By any chance are many of the Canadians retired teachers? When I went in 2014 in Sept., every Canadian I met (self excepted) was a newly retired teacher. I figured it had to do with the routine of September returns to school provoking a need for some kind of structured adventure of sorts.
The combination of retirement and shipping off young adults to university at Labour Day does seem to influence travel behaviour amongst my compatriots.
As a dual Irish/Canadian citizen, I'm happy to hear that there's a bunch of Irish folk on the trail now. Just missed 'em I guess.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Sorry ,you got it wrong, lots of us Irish out here right now.I keep meeting more every day,a happy laughing table full here in Sahagun an hour ago.
That's it. Every time where ever I was (on Camino too) it was a party with Irish. I just adore you as a Nation!!!

EDIT: I just remembered that in 2004 when making a documentary (just a part of it in Dublin) I was invited to a pub by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern after we finished shooting. While doing another documentary in 2014 I met him in Strasbourg in EU parliament. That's ten years later and he remembered me and we went for another beer. ;))

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
