Time of past OR future Camino
May (2016)
Hello, my name is Mary, and my sister and I are planning to walk the Camino in May 2016. She will be 65 and I will be 69 when we arrive in Spain. The tickets are booked to fly in to Madrid. We are currently doing our training walks and planning our pack gear. She lives in Oklahoma and I live in Washington state in the US. I've gotten so much good information from this forum and love reading everything. I'm so excited to be doing this. My Spanish lessons are not going that well, but I think it will be okay. I will know some when I arrive. Or at least I hope so.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

Hi Mary,

Welcome to the forums. I assume you are planning to walk the Camino Frances from SJPP.

I will be walking it for the third time, now age 68, and will be starting a week ahead of you so we are unlikely to meet up, but I hope all goes well for you and your sister.

Buen Camino,

Mike

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi and welcome Mary,

In addition to your Spanish lessons you might also want to try out https://www.duolingo.com which is great fun and free. Buen Camino, SY
Thank you. I love reading your comments on the forum. They have been very insightful and helpful. I am using Duolingo and seem to be able to do most of the reading and writing. I just sound awful when I speak. Laughing. I'm also using a book called Easy Spanish Phrase Book by Pablo Garcia Loaeza. I have found that one somewhat nice in breaking down the pronunciation.

Welcome to the Forum, Mary! You might also try Camino Lingo on Kindle. I've found it quite useful since it is SO Camino-specific - particularly the food section!
Buen Camino!

Thanks Terry, I will take a look at that later this morning. Duolingo says I'm 33% proficient in Spanish right now, but really would like to feel more confident. But of course I don't feel I'm hardly at 33%. Well at least I have some time.
